“Developing a Multi Sectoral Approach Model for Sustainable Health and Development”

Pravara Medical Trust, Loni in collaboration with Linkoping University, County Council of Osterogoland and University of Skovde, Sweden designed a unique “ Multisectoral Approach Model for sustainable health & development in 235 selected villages of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra “. The model will be developed and tested in the target area for three years (2006-2009) with an estimated cost of 12.5 crores Major contribution to the tune of 7 crores has been committed by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Sweden for the Project.

The services of the Model will be available to 235 villages covering a population of 400,000,belonging to drought-prone and tribal talukas namely Shrirampur ,Rahata ,Sangamner ,Shevgaon and Akole of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra . The direct beneficiaries of the Project would be vulnerable sections of society – women, children, adolescents & youth, indigenous & poor people and public at large.

The Project aims at improving the maternal, child & adolescent health status through increased access to health care on Swedish pattern, promoting e-health for improved health care delivery and empowerment of people, bringing socio-cultural behavioral changes in personal and environmental hygiene & sexual and reproductive health rights including safe abortion and HIV/AIDS, and gender equity and male participation, and research in transgenic plants, quality of breast milk and awareness for low cost locally available nutrition rich food for improving nutritional status of women and children and low cost herbal remedies for control of viral infections.To More Click Here

Qualification: The candidate must be Ph. D. in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Molecular Biology or related subject with minimum 10 years teaching experience at Post Graduate level with research experience.

Director Research Faculty

Applications are invited for appointment for the post of Director Research Faculty at Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences Loni.

Qualification: Postgraduate Degree in any subject of Biosciences / Biotechnology with Ph D.

Experience: A minimum of Ten years experience in research faculty of Bio-Sciences / Biotechnology with credentials of national and international publications.

Age: Below 55 years.

Last date for receipt of applications: 30 June 2010.
Job Requirement: The Director will be responsible for all types of research in the field of Bio-sciences being carried out at Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences Loni and its constituent college’s i. e. Rural Medical College, Rural Dental College, College of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy, Center of Biotechnology, Center for Social Medicines and School of Biosciences Management. These institutions are involved in “Basic research”, “Applied research” and “Practical/Action research” which will be required to be supervised, guided and monitored by the Director.

  • Candidate who holds MBBS degree from a medical college recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) and who has obtained full registration either from MCI or any of the state council after passing final MBBS examination and has completed one year Internship.
  • Candidate should obtain more than 50% marks in CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by this Deemed University.
